Rain is nothing for a double coat. The outer layer repels water while the undercoat insulates. Let them enjoy it. But do dry them properly after — a damp undercoat breeds bacteria.
After a rain walk, your thick-coated dog looks fine on the surface but the undercoat is wet. Towel the undercoat thoroughly or use a blow dryer — damp undercoat causes hot spots and musty smell.
